IT & Innovation Specialist Zaynah Onye is part of our Eurostaffers Five Year Club. She is articulate, smart and has a great personality that shines through when working with tech clients and professionals all over Finland. Her career journey so far has been one of exciting international trips, lunch clubs, solid business relationships, as well as lifelong friends she has made working here -even going to Miami with some of them recently!
She reveals the reasons why Eurostaff has been a career of progression for her so far and what she hopes to achieve in the coming years!
What has been your biggest achievement so far working at Eurostaff?
Both personally and professionally I have achieved a lot working at Eurostaff.
On a personal level, I have visited over ten different destinations that I have always had on my bucket list, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Miami more recently, and this is all because I have made enough money to do so. Travelling, I have realised is important to me and by working here I can plan these exciting trips, see and do things whilst I am there and keep these memories for a lifetime – which is priceless.
Professionally, I have gone from strength to strength and this is shown through the promotions I have received off the back of my hard work and client relationships established over the years! My recent promotion to Principal Consultant has given me the opportunity to mentor those new to the business, give them advice and lead them towards their own successes.
How has your role at Eurostaff changed over the past five years?
The beginning of your Eurostaff career is all about learning your market, becoming confident speaking to clients and professionals and making sure you understand individual needs and expectations. You focus heavily on becoming successful at placing professionals into businesses that they are well suited to. As the years pass you notice these business relationships solidifying and establishing long-term partnerships with CEOs and CTOs – I have a lot more influence and responsibility now through my years’ of experience.
Mentoring has allowed me to be able to contribute to making the environment and journey easier for less experienced consultants through market knowledge, general advice and implementing ideas to make their workplace better and their work day a more enjoyable one.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The working environment at Eurostaff is one that motivates and lifts you to what to do well and of course the opportunity to always influence your month to month pay cheque is great! I really enjoy building client relationships and consistently seeing your contribution to the success and growth of companies, especially start-ups!
Which incentives have Eurostaff rewarded you with over the past five years?
I went to Amsterdam on one of the company incentive trips which was a brilliant trip to enjoy time with my colleagues and friends! I also have been on many lunch clubs over the years where I have eaten in top restaurants, again experiences I have really enjoyed.
I also feel that my promotion from Senior to Principal Consultant is something I am grateful that Eurostaff has helped me to achieve! They believed in me and helped me reach this goal and continue to push me to achieve the next one, that is all I could ask for.
Ultimately though, Eurostaff has given me the opportunity to enjoy life experiences and personal milestones that I would not have had if I had not worked here.
Any words of wisdom for new specialists joining The Eurostaff Team?
-Focus on your goal and what you're here for or want to achieve in life.
-Believe in yourself, you are the only person who will truly motivate and push yourself the most.
- Stay hungry. By this I simply mean, never feel you have done ‘enough’, always push to do more and you will reap the rewards!
